Gimme' Five! Handful of Spots Left for Summer Trip

About

That's right, Hope Equals has five spots left for this summer's adventure and we are extending our deadline to May 10, 2011. If you were on the fence, this is your chance to make the choice and join us for the trip of a lifetime. You've read the books, watched the news, seen the documentary and maybe attended a few conferences, but what does it look like to be a peace maker in the Holy Land. Hope Equals' summer adventure will to help you experience it for yourself. Walk the land, meet the people and hear their stories.

You will meet the Israeli and Palestinian leaders spearheading the peace and reconciliation movement, and you'll follow them on tours of their work. Then you will have a chance to learn even more when you volunteer for them. This experience will give you the opportunity to hear first-person stories of the situation—on both sides. You will also have a chance to swim in the Dead Sea, the Galilee, and the Mediterranean. You will visit the Church of the Nativity and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. You cannot understand the Israeli perspective without a visit to the Holocaust Museum, Yad Vashem, so you'll spend some serious time there. The Dome of the Rock and the Wailing Wall are physical illustrations of the complexity and closeness of the people of the land--you won't leave without being there. And who could ignore one of the most painful lessons about the futility of force history has to offer: Masada. You'll climb to the top and see the Holy Land literally from a different point of view.

While we would love to take everyone, we only have room for 5 more students, and we expect these spaces will fill up soon. Send a completed application to contact@hopeequals.orgCanada application or USA application.

Trip dates are July 17-August 20, 2011.

The cost of this five-week adventure is $4,000. Price includes orientation, all ground transportation, guides in Israel and the West Bank, admission to all sites visited, lodging for five weeks, half board (breakfast and dinner), and other trip related expenses.
