CPT Touring West Michigan

About

Christian Peacemaker Teams, one of the bravest groups of Christian pacifists, will be touring campuses and visiting Hope Equals November 17 and 18 20011. Tim Nafzinger, cutreach coordinator for CPT, will visit the Justice for Palestine Club at Western Michigan University, the Peace M.E.ans Club at Grand Valley State University and the Social Justice Club and Middle East Club at Calvin Theological Seminary and Calvin College respectively. Nafzinger will talk about how CPT protects civilians in violent parts of the world and how CPT's slogan "Getting In The Way" puts CPTers directly in harms way, in places like Iraq, Colombia and Al-Khalil, Palestine. Nafzinger will also lead demonstrations on the methods and techniques that CPT uses to get in the way and deescalate violence. This is a wonderful oportunity to get a small taste of what non-violent peacemaking actually looks like in a risk-free environment. Come join Hope Equals and learn about the fascinating and necessary work of Christian Peacemaker Teams.
