About

Hope Equals is a movement of people who raise awareness at home to advocate for peace half a world away. If you are interested in starting a group on your college, seminary, or university campus, or if you would like to link your existing group to our network, just contact us and we’ll help you get started.

What We Offer

Being a part of the Hope Equals movement enables you to pursue your passion and build a team.

1. Community—Whether as individuals, or as isolated campus groups, it’s discouraging to feel like you’re the only one who cares about reconciliation in the Middle East. We will connect you to other groups and leaders who can encourage, support and inspire you. Join the movement. You are not alone!

2. Resources—None of us have time to check out every bit of news, every new book, or to figure out whose opinion is credible. We provide you with trusted resources for you to watch, read, or use.

3. Alerts—It’s hard to keep up on every piece of relevant legislation out there and to know how best to act on it. So we’re here to help you become effective advocates for peace. Sign up for our alerts (link to Get Connected) and you’ll get the skinny on what’s going on in the policy world and how you can take action—on your campus, Congress, or Parliament.

4. Training—We don't claim to have every answer, but we know people who know more than we do. Hope Equals partners with experts and scholars to provide our campus leaders with training and assistance in areas like community organizing, advocacy, and politics. We will be rolling this out for all Hope Equals teams starting this spring.

What We Expect

While Hope Equals encourages creativity and flexibility in this grassroots movement, we do have some basic principles that unify all of our groups and give us a common identity.

1. Hope Equals is about reconciliation and a just peace between Israelis and Palestinians. We are against bashing either people group—this hurts our goal of increasing mutual respect and understanding. Hope Equals teams, and affiliated groups, must understand and embody this principle.

2. Hope Equals is a Christian organization that works with Christians, Jews, Muslims, and people from other faith traditions. We strive to be inclusive, while being clear that Hope Equals is guided by its Christian principles and values.

3. Hope Equals requires its teams to work within their local legal framework. This includes campus rules for student clubs. We don't want you getting kicked out of school on our account.

4. Hope Equals does not demand membership fees from teams, affiliates, or partners. Each group is responsible for their own finances.
